Patrick Chamoiseau is a renowned poet, novelist, and essayist whose works, translated globally, have earned him numerous prestigious awards. In 1992, he received France's highest literary honor, the Prix Goncourt, for his monumental novel Texaco. He has also been recognized with the Prix Carbet de la Caraïbe (1993) and the Prix Marguerite Yourcenar (2023). Chamoiseau’s writing explores the aesthetics of creolization and relational poetics in the contemporary world. Widely regarded as one of the Caribbean’s most influential literary voices, he is also a committed advocate for human rights.
