Professor Rashauna Johnson's new book Slavery's Metropolis (Cambridge, 2016) has been named a finalist for the Frederick Douglass Book Prize. Sponsored by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History and the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition at Yale University, the Frederick Douglass Book Prize recognizes the best book on slavery, resistance, and/or abolition published in the preceding year.
